Tesla truck!

Whoops. I think they need to keep Musk away from the public- he’s firmly established himself as a corporate liability to Tesla

You have to wonder. No doubt it will not pass muster any way it look like it would cut someone in half if it hits them.

Will we be given the opportunity to do our own colouring in?

Joking aside, I rather like the Mad Max design ethos. However it looks utterly impractical, with a tiny boot opening and not a cat in hell's chance of getting through Construction and Use Regs. It's cheap though, by modern car standards. Consider the running costs over say 50k miles/4 years and £30k for the basic one looks very fair.

What a bunch of comedians , They were surprised that the body moved when they cut out the roof pillars ,
did you notice at the end of the video how far out the door gaps were

A mobile abortion / death trap o_O

It's pretty well a given that when you chop the roof off it's going to have all the structural integrity of a crisp packet. A mate of mine years ago had a Ford Escort Mk 3, or maybe it was an Orion, that was never going to see another MoT so he decided to cut the roof off for the summer. Even he had the sense to plate the doors shut and add bracing across the B pillars, otherwise it just wouldn't stay up. He had a good time smoking around Nawf Landun for a month or two, jumping in Starsky and Hutch style, and then weighed it in.

I prefer this one

And I thought toyota had fuglied a decent set of mechanicals with this:

"Yeah, let's make it look like a pickup truck version of this... and can we make it fuglier?"

With straight panels and glass as well as a straight metal dashboard with one screen, I’m surprised it costs $30k... Should be more like 15k!

Also, surely this can’t posssibly pass America’s pedestrian crash tests? - it would splice them in half instead of bouncing them back up off the bonnet!!??

I like the thinking by Marques that tesla had to be totally different from the f150, because there are a million f150 clones out there.

I don't think there are any pedestrian crash test standards in the US. Pedestrians are probably poor, takers not makers, and therefore you're doing society a favour by removing some from the gene pool on your way to the office/gym/grocery store. (I am, of course, not being serious).
