Tax and Tony Blair

...and there weren't 'weapons of mass destruction', no NATO, UN, EU support for Blair an Bush's position yet tens of thousands of Iraqis still had to die. Robin Cook was the only front bencher who acted with integrity. One of the most disgraceful episodes in recent British history and one of the causes of terrorism against us- past and still to come.

Whatever he pays in tax is whatever HMRC says he has to pay otherwise they would be after him for tax evasion.

And Bush knew there were no WMD: it was an excuse in order to dominate the Middle East and the Oil Market, please the Israeli lobby and push $ billions to his friends.

The rate of tax that
TB should pay = 40%

No ifs No buts.

It is him and his like
that sets this bad
example, they can
afford to pay so they
should pay.

40% of 12 Million =
4.8 Million.

£315.000 = a %
rate of ? out of
12 Million.

Do the maths, he
is a cheat and a
fraud!!

Bollocks. The rate of tax ANYONE is equired to pay is the minimum that is legally required. And not a penny more.

Chris

Yes, but the minimum legal amount can only be accurately ascertained after a full and thorough 'investigation' of all his business, personal and charitable dealings. He's been able to get away with only paying £315,000 based on his submissions and an appraisal.

Not quite the same thing.

Who says he's getting away with anything?

Chris

Jack

Blair may have only paid £315k in tax but that is a darned sight more than what you have paid. Therefore he is contributing more to society than what you every will.

Mick

Over 400 dead young men in Afghanistan and the death total is still rising, all for nothing. I am not sure their parents would agree that he is contributed much to society.

The overwhelming majority of public opinion I would imagine Chris.

Rich

As long as the law says he did not evade tax, public opinion does not matter in the least.

Public opinion would bring back hanging, is homophobic, takes it's lead from the likes of the Sun, the Mail etc.

And you want to use it as an arbiter of justice?
