Tannoy DMT Speaker Question...

After seeing a recent pair of Tannoy DMT 12 speakers for sale on here, i searched for information on them, maybe even a review, but not a lot out there. I assume that this is because they were designed for studio use.
What i'm confused about is the reason why these concentric drivers have two sets of binding posts, unlike the domestic concentric, which has only one set of binding posts. Why would this be?.. i thought bi-wiring, or bi-amping was akin to snake oil by many, yet this was a decision taken by Tannoy for a speaker intended for professional use, so it's left me scratching my head. Does anybody have an answer please?
