Since February of 2020 my family and my lives have been in danger repeatedly as an essential front line worker. I took more abuse and stress than I thought I could take and I did residency before the Libby Zion laws. Records with my daughter were probable the best part of my day, a side or two before putting her to bed, each night when I wasn't at work. I talked to my wife, and let's say I went for it. I found a used Ypsilon VPS100 phono pre. Always loved a tube phono stage with the Naim sound. The PRAT and engagement with the big fat 3d images only the best tubes throw. I also upgraded my 300dr to a 500dr, still love my 52. I also added Music cable throughout, piece by piece over the last 2 years when they came up used. Still waiting for the 52 Burndy to arrive, the WH Morgana is nice upgrade as well. This year I just added the Isoacoustic Gaia feet to my speakers, and my turntable. A very impressive upgrade. In both cases I think they detract a bit from the aesthetic, but they really improve the sound. I was listening to a Rasputin/Bobbin Hunky Dory last night, the clapping at the end of Andy Warhol was startling and I've listened hundreds of times. Ok here are some pics. I included one of my daughter staring intently at a gatefold for 20 minutes while the music played, a few questions or a lot, depending on the mood. "who's talking daddy, is that George singing, is that John, why isn't Ringo smiling". She is really digging Get back and the Let it be box. Sharing this hobby with a 3 year old is something I never imagined. It's a wonderful surprise.
There is a Cary Streamer as well, thats an Ypsilon SUT next to the 52. Running a Koestu Rosewood signature platinum cart that I switch with a DVxv1T when they get retipped. Vivid Giya 3 speakers. The system sounds great and is so resolving, that I am hearing some weakness in pressings I thought were my last purchase. The only downside thus far to the upgrades.
