Maybe you can compare your speaker measurements with Epos ES11s and if they're large enough you could give the old Epos stands a shot. They come up occasionally on their own, and they disassemble to pack sort of flat, so they're shippable.

That's exactly the style I'm considering! I will check into it....thanks!

No major changes to the main system (described in System Pics 2019) and the turntable changes (separate thread), but starting off 2021 with a nod towards the headphone setup.

I've always wanted closed headphones, never got around to justify a pair.

Until now. :)

You've swapped JM Lab Mini Utopia's for Naim speakers!
Ok then maybe they work with your Naim amps and if it keeps you happy :D
We're moving house soon and we needed speakers that could go tight against a rear wall, no other reason for the swap as the Focals are brilliant but sadly will be up for sale I think soon.

Nearing completion of the renovations to the listening / living room...just need to source a nice slab of lumber for the fireplace mantel.

I'm trying some heavier stands under my new-to-me Sony SS-NA5es speakers. The other stands I have are solid hardwood with a marble base, surely designed more for visual harmony than ultimate fidelity. What I'd really like to try is a set of old-school, open frame, lightweight stands, but there does not seem to be many (any?) currently manufactured.

How about these https://www.hificorner.co.uk/something-solid-xf-speaker-stand.html

Is the wooden cover over the swing arm an original fitment? I'm more used to seeing them with plastic covers ...
Yes, it has the makers plate on it (Maelzel), so I imagine it is, images on the internet of similar are the same. Can't say as I know anything about them

I personally use Solid Steel SS-5's which are THE most stable and rock solid stands I've every come across.

All great suggestions and certainly enough for me to get some research started. Thanks folks!

Lovely fire there Waxxy. The only thing you need to change in that room is the socks. Enjoy

Yes it really is lovely. The fireplace insert is new this year. It's more efficient than the previous unit and throws a bunch more heat!! No excuse for the socks...but they are 100% wool, so cozy for cold Canadian winters.
