The plan is to paint it white, then say to the Light of my life, 'you just let me know when you've chosen a colour and I'd be my duty and pleasure to paint it for you’ secure in the knowledge that it'll never happen!!

Exactly!!! all that wood, and a nice bright tiestheroomtogethernicelyrug, a few colourful cushions and you need to have white walls to bounce the colour around. Put colour on the walls and the reflected light looses the bounce!!
