1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

But speed doesn't cause accidents, it's those middle lane at 70mph b*st*rds that the police should be targeting. In fact those middle lane b*st*rds probably caused the financial meltdown also .... cont p. 93.

It begs the question why cars are made to go this fast in the first place

agreed - stupidity causes accidents not speed etc etc

I think you'd need to take rather a large quantity of speed for it to be fatal.

Whilst a very loud stereo can be an anti-social nuisance, I don't believe they can kill innocent pedestrians.

BTW, anyone read the comments on this clip? I feel sullied by association knowing I live in the same country as these ghastly people.

Just stupid kids. Some kids from my old school were doing just that a few years ago. Unfortunately for them, it turned out the tree they hit was considerably harder than their car and their bodies. 4 lives gone.

It would be a VERY boring world if everybody behaved themselves.
The Video that started all this was about 15 years ago when some rich Ferrari owner blatted across Paris at insane speeds. And guess what? Just like the subject of this thread, NO-ONE GOT HURT!
There has to be more to life than towing the line.

There must have been alterations to the speedo as well then.

I'm cool de la with people taking risks on a race track.
Imo unacceptable to take such risks & involve others on public roads.

In the days before cars, there were wild animals, highwaymen, pirates, in fact any number of dangers on any journey. Travel has always been and will always be inherently dangerous. Modern society will never negate this, or even significantly reduce the risks.
If a speeding teenager doesn't get you then a lorry driver that falls asleep, or a momentary lapse of concentration will. Everyone who travels is just a statistic waiting to happen. We all just have to accept that as fact and move on.
