Sony BDP-S790

Is the Sony BDP-S790 a good mch SACD player via HDMI at only £199 seems too cheap to be a top class machine

It's good enough if your only connecting it into a digital system, if you need a good analogue section, look at Oppo 95 or a legacy Pioneer/Denon/Marantz DVD player

From a previous post he indicated that he uses a Sony multichannel amp so the player mentioned should be just fine

All I want is one box under the telly that plays computer games, blue rays and sacd. Preferably with fans that dont sound like jet engines although it is getting better on that score.

A player that stops reviewers from going "well you need a seperate box to really play blue rays". Surely one decent drive would do all those things properly.

The proper hifi Rega, Nytech, Royd etc would be over in the other corner

I have tried the Oppo 103 via HDMI and find it soundwise not as good as Sony machines futhermore I prefer the Sony picture, no problem in getting a refund on the Oppo
