Sigma

Is the Sigma DP1 or DP2 the best compact camera ? It seems to have rave reviews on some aspects, but serious flaws in terms of ease of use that are making me, as an amateur, hesitate. Views ?

I'd be considering the Lumix LX3 and also waiting to see what the Olympus Micro 4/3 offering ends up like when it finally appears.

Ricoh and Fuji have recently released high dynamic range / low noise cameras which might be appealing:

F200EXR

CX1

One of the main problems with most small cameras is the noise in shadow areas. Both these cameras address that specifically and also offer extnded dynamic range for high contrast shots. Of course the limited F stop range on the Ricoh might be an issue with handheld shots, but it's a case of horses for courses methinks.
