btw sincerely appreciate RoA's tutorial on how to upload images, I've been trying to figure it out for a while really:(

Yes, it's not really obvious unless you've been doing it for a while. Someone had to show me. - Maybe one of the MOD's can put a sticky up with some clear instructions.

Slight change to the roster (moved one pair to someone who will enjoy them more):

From right to left - (1) AKG K-1000, (2) Sennheiser HD-650, (3) Denon AH-D7200. All three are recabled using ViaBlue EPC-4 for fully balanced operation.

Rest of the chain includes:
  • SPL Phonitor 2 amplifier;
  • Matrix Audio mini i-3 Pro Streamer/DAC;
  • ELAC PPA-2 phono preamp;
  • Technics SL-1210 MK7 + balanced output mod + Denon DL-A110.

My main setup:

LaFigaro 339i amp, Beyer DT1990 Pro or T1.2 headphones

Sources are the Audiolab cd transport into a Topping D70s Dac & a Rpi4 running Ropiee xl to the Gustard U18 DDC, IIS to the Dac.

Not sure about headphones for music, but for podcasts they somehow work. Not sure why.

Bought a new (used) Sony XBA-N3 iem as I’ve been after a set for a couple of years, very impressed with the sound quality and I’m definitely keeping them.

The original cable is rather microphonic so I’ve swapped my Dunu Vulkan cable over and it works perfectly fine with the earhooks

Recently arrived Monolith M1570 planars, accompanied by their more junior siblings 1060c and 1060.

Very impressed with the M1570.
But they are big and, especially, heavy.
I find them very comfortable, but I know some folks find them unwearable.

I guess I'm still in the honeymoon period, but they seem to be the most natural headphones I've heard. Tonally, spacially, dynamically. No edge, no hype, just really good to listen to.
