Well into the 1990s the only source at Naim was the LP12/Karma - I forget which arm on the early ones but of course later ones had the ARO. IIRC early Naim electronics were tested into Kans or Isobariks. The SBLs were standard from the mid 80s.
The Naits, having only a MM stage were tested with the same LP12/SBL combo as before, but with a K9 cartridge, I believe.
Whilst my NaimUniti was off for repair I put my Nait 2 in its place, pairing with my SBLs and LP12. The Uniti is in the attic now! https://flic.kr/p/2hnK1Dz
I loved the Nait 1 I picked up in Ireland (deal done in a pub!) for €50 - after testing it for a few days I sold it on eBay for €700 odd to Taiwan At the time I ran a Nac62 with DIY PSU and an ML No. 29...but driving SF Concertinos speakers, which need a bit of current, so not a good comparison...but I loved that Nait for the profit brought me
Yes, it is always changing. The Nait seems to work a little better with the SBLs. I may take it to my other place in West Wales and pair it with some Spendor S6s.
