I have Sennheiser HD455 headphones bought about 20 years ago but I can't use them because the mini jack is damaged. Sennheiser no longer sell the replacement cable for this model. Any ideas? I don't fancy my chances of successfully soldering a new mini jack on.
Assuming the damage is at the mini-jack end, not the earcup end of the cable any electronics engineer could solder a new plug on with ease and hopefully for very little cost. The plug itself is only a couple of quid.
PS Googling images of the 455 it look like the cable is just a female to male mini-jack with a female jack at the headphone end (i.e. there is a male plug as part of one ear-cup), as such a standard extension lead such as this one should work.
