  1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

The Scottish government have brought in policies that improve life up here within its limits of power. Small business rates relief, free education. As you know there is a lot more Brian. More of a middle ground socialism which the majority of Scott's are. The other important issue for me is Faslane I dont want that in our back yard for me it's a safety issue . Then you have a short sighted current Tory government. I could go on and on this is just a small snapshot of my feelings. If we get independence it wont be the end of a friendship with the people of the UK we will always be tied together with friendship. We want to run our own house rather than another household runing it for us. I'm sure you prefer to run your house than a mate doing it for you.

I want Scottish independence because we can do a better job of it than the Tories. I want a Labour government in England for the same reason.

How about a Labour govt in the UK?

After independence you can have any kind of government you collectively see fit. You could elect Danny Boyle, Frankie Boyle or Susan Boyle as leader but after independence please, please stop winging about the one we, the fifty odd million who live south of the border, have chosen for ourselves.

Very neatly put - the case for independence in a nutshell and nothing to do with the idiotic "the Scots hate the English" rhetoric.

It’s not rhetoric, some do. Hardline Scottish nationalism is just as ugly as any other.

We can do better. Westminster governments of any persuasion govern primarily for England.

In a few months Britain’s situation is going to be quite unrecognisable from even a year ago. On 6 May, voters in Scotland have an opportunity to make their wishes known about their future based on the facts before them.

What? I like Scots and would prefer not to see a break up of the UK, Sorry, I hadn’t realised that was your point.

    Good Morning All,

I don't see my observations as being 'racist'.

I don't see any reason why the Scots can't vote for independence BUT a very sound financial case needs to be made for it and I don't believe the SNP have made it yet.

I would prefer that proverbial 'hatchets' were buried and that the UK remains United. Collectively we have enough on our plates with Brexit and, IMHO, I can't think of less appropriate time to be considering Scottish independence than now.

As I have said elsewhere the only real significant issue we are all facing is climate change anyway and that transcends politics.

    Regards

    Richard

What you have posted is sensible and is not at all racist.

Trouble is, like hardline nationalists everywhere, they believe to a religious degree. Other nationalists are bad but their nationalism is pure and good.

I expect I’ve just somehow made Spike55’s point for him again, by not having much time for destructive nationalism. There is no economic case for Scots independence, it’s why the SNP, and in fact nobody else has made one.

Superb observational skills from Scottish Conservative Leader Douglas Ross, that “the SNP does not speak for Scotland”. SNP, 48 Westminster seats, Scottish Conservatives, 6. I’d check his assistant football refereeing decisions.

It wasn't my point, as you well know. Never mind.......

Cor guv, you're so clever, you really got me there, it's a fair cop, etc. Now, finish up your little dance and pop back under your bridge, there's a good chap.

It didn’t need one. You know what you posted.

Well, what was your point I helped with? Have you even made one?
