Sansui AU 11000 A - Which Settings for Phono?

Hi all,

Hope you're well.

I'm a little confused as to what settings I should use on my Saunsui AU 11000 A with regards to Phono.

I have a Linn LP 12 with Ortofon 2M Red, plugging straight into the phono stage on my Sansui:

Sounds OK but are these the settings I should be using? (30k / 2mv)

Thanks in advance, as usual.

Stephen.

I'd try it on the 50k and either the 4mV or 8mV settings. The 2m Red output is 5.5mV, I think, and is probably designed with a standard 47kOhm input in mind.

What @starbuck says but just adjust sensitivity so that it is close to your other inputs such as CD, the 4mV is most likely though for 5.5V output.

Lovely beast there, @stephen_cowslip.

Although not commonly published at the time, as with other Sansui models of the period, MM phono has 100pF across the inputs; ideal for Sansui's own branded audio-technica OEM offerings, and, indeed, many others.
