The Sansui AU 2900 amp that Bottleneck has just bought is indeed a fine amp though my personal favourite is the AU101. Slightly less powerfull at 15 watts rms pc but one of the sweetest amps ever built by sansui.
Check them out at http://www.vintageaudioworld.com They have three!! for sale

Very interesting link!

Going back to my very early days of Hi-fi, I owned an Sansui AU555A, which was a few models above the AU 101, but of the same vintage.

I also owned an lovely CA800 Yamaha which was switchable Class A, Class A/B.

The Yamaha in particular was superb, and was locally the best the Japanese had to offer at the time. Still miss it - good sound and the build and finish, as usual with high end Japanese products, was utterly superb.

Thanks again for the link

Best

John...:)

Not had the opportunity to listen to very many amps to compare, but the biggest surprise for me has been the Yamaha amps .. just a CR400 & CA600 to date .. I will keep both for their sweetness .. but wonder what others think in how these compare to Sansui, & tube amps & other amps like Naim.

I've tried Audiolab 8000 A (no like) / Cyrus 1 (liked) / Inca Tech Claymore (liked)
