Re-reading this makes me think of amplifiers I owned.
It brings back memories of my Sony TA1010 from the early ‘70s.
After my slightly ‘agricultural’ Metrosound, it was a real move up.
Beautifully made and a joy to use.
Many years later I bought another, mainly to see if it was as good as I remembered.
I linked it up to a pair of LS3/5as and played a CD.
Yes, it sounded very good if a little lacking in power.
OK, my modern Marantz sounded superior but not outclassed.
As a bonus, it still looked good.
I’m not sure my little Metrosound ever had the looks to begin with...
