Ruark Log-Rhythm Subwoofer Schematics

Andrew L Weekes

Thought I'd share this in case it's of use to others...

I have a Ruark Log-Rhythm that I bought as a clearance item in 2004 and which has been on pretty much 24/7 since. It's overdue a bit of attention and TLC, so I emailed Ruark to see if they were willing to sell a service manual or schematics.

I received a very kind email from Neil Adams, Ruark's operations director, stating that they no longer make speakers or carry parts, but he kindly provided the schematics for free.

It's a straightforward circuit, largely op-amp based with a discrete power stage for the sub; I'm going to pop it open and have a look at the state of the caps etc. in there, later it may be ripe for some op-amp tweaks, but as it's largely operating at <100Hz, I'm not sure there's any great value in that. I've always found it integrates perfectly with my Naim IBL's, giving adding bass extension without deteriorating from the wonderful clarity and musicality of the IBL's.

Schematics are here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4CMMhLeaM1AOVRUaFMxQUpqb3ZYSE80Ty1icmhSLXpuMDdv

Enjoy,

Andy.
