I bumped into him once at Perth airport. He looked truly otherworldly (if that is a word). No idea what Oz customs and immigration would have made of him!

Had the pleasure of attending a few of his gigs in the UK in recent years, of which - his 80th Birthday at the Brixton Academy was a hell of a night out - and ... alongside Toots & The Maytals, Sept 2018, Ally Pally: pic:

Truly - one of a kind.

In some ways he was the Sun Ra of reggae: a complete one off who made brilliant music and a wonderfully idiosyncratic view of the order of things. RIP
 
A total genius and as mad as a box of frogs.
