RIP Keith LeBlanc

Sad to report the passing of Keith LeBlanc, drummer with the Sugarhill Gang/Tackhead/Little Axe, and his own remarkable solo albums. He' was certainly up there with my favourite drummers.
I've seen him play many times with Tackhead and solo. Once, after a solo set (where he triggered samples and sequences off his kit) at the Fulham Greyhound, I turned to my mate and said "Do you realise we've just watched effectively a forty minute drum solo - and loved it!"

Oh, that's sad and annoying. I was a big Tackhead fan back in the day and saw them live in Leeds in 1990 of thereabouts - although as a bass player my eyes were more on Wimbish's showmanship. RIP.

I have been an admirer of his drumming since the 1980’s and own some of his albums and plenty of Tackhead.

We have a music/beer session booked for Saturday night, so Keith will be played at volume and with gusto.
