RIP Burt Bacharach

A remarkable age and legacy. He’s one of those I was always amazed was still alive as his music felt like it had existed forever and for me was rooted in old Ella records etc. RIP.

There’s probably no one that doesn’t know a Burt Bacharach song.

May he be serenaded by angels playing his music on harps.

We saw him at the Festival Hall some years ago - he would have been late eighties then. He was interviewed through the evening and a variety of folk sang a selection of his songs. Great legacy. RIP.

"The Look of Love" with Dusty Springfield.... most perfect pop song ever.

To be balanced though.... there are a few clunkers in his output... "Wives and Lovers" with Jack Jones won't be getting many plays nowadays. We'll blame Hal David for that one!

One of my very favourites together with Jimmy Webb.
So many great tunes written for others but I still give a regular spin to Burt's own 'Reach Out' album from 1967 - RIP.

RIP to one of the all-time greats.

Agree with the comment about Hal David - an essential element in the chemistry.

Then, in Dionne Warwick, they found the perfect interpreter for their work.

What a glorious legacy.
