Replacing the A&R a60 wood veneer lid with something better?

Anyone had any success replacing the A&R A60 wooden cover? I've sanded mine down and painted it black, but it still doesn't look amazing, time has taken its toll and warped it slightly and the veneer has chipped in a few places. Wanted to know if anyone has upgraded to a new custom wooden case? acrylic? Or aluminium? The amp looks great, I just feel the current case is letting it down a bit
 
Nice one, that looks great, how did you do the trim on the front ( the part you see when looking at the amp straight on)? Is it iron on trim veneer? If so how did you trim it down?
 
It's a paper backed veneer from ebay. Stuck on with wood glue. I started with the front you mentioned, mitred corners, then worked my way round over the top. Finished it in osmo oil.
