Thanks for posting that. Yes, undoubtedly one of the greats, and somehow a very "gentle" photographer.

I was surprised to learn that he was (was) still with us. As one of the greats, I suppose I assumed he was long gone.

Just read his Obit, I don’t post on here very often as lapsed snapper, but his work always fascinated me. A true great & one of many from the Magnum stable who I used to worship as an A-level photography student.

I know the work a bit but about the man? nothing. RIP.

I suppose he became famous, among a general public, for his dog photographs. But he did some brilliant work in most other fields, too. He was an all-round pro with a beautiful, gentle, often understated "eye."
