Rega turntable 'hum' blocker

"Can reduce hum by up to 3db"

I don't remember hum being a problem on my old Rega.
They do hum, but not enough to get in the way of the music… I noticed it most running Rega MM cartridges, as the head shell moves closer to the spindle (or motor), the cartridge picks up some noise from the motor… shielding the motor would help… but that plate is thicker than needed and only covers half the motor… the wrong half.

For me, it was never enough of an issue to warrant finding a fix.

£13 to fix a miinor irritation doesn't seem OTT if it works.
I think it would be most effective rotated through 180°, but it looks too thick to fit under the sub platter with sufficient clearance.a thinner full circle would be in interesting idea… I only ever noticed it with the arm raised and near to the centre of the platter, and it was much more noticeable with Rega MMs, it was negligible with Ortofon 2M cartridges and pretty much inaudible with the MCs I tried (Apheta, Ortofon Kontrapunkt B, Ortofon Quintet blue)… probably has a lot to do with the induced current being too low to drive the much lower input impedance of an MC stage.
