  1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Rega Speakers, what's inside?

Just out of interest I have been searching far and wide for images of the construction of Rega loudspeakers. So far I have found nothing, any ideas. Thanks

    linnfomaniac83 I bet you can’t wheelie a unicycle!

That very much depends on the Rega model in question, they’re all well made though. I’m pretty certain the models with a side firing woofer have separate chambers from the difference sections, they’ve made some transmission line designs too.

It depends on the model as above.

Some like the Ela and R7/R9 are transmission line designs, some are standard ported such as the Jura or Ara, and others use a distributed port/slot/aperiodic arangement such as the Alya and R3. I'm not familliar with the RS/RX models.

    Example of the R3/R5

There's an old lady trapped in some of the bigger models...

Blimey, I think that’s Jean from the cafe, down the road, wondered where she’d gotten to... does a bostin English brekkie and a cup of tea!

Thanks for answers. I should have said I have got the RS5’s so just interested in their internals, not that I am going to operate.

I would imagine that the midrange driver/tweeter is in a sealed compartment and the 7" bass driver makes up the most of the cabinet in a ported enclosure. Just a guess.

Probably what most other say, and as long as Rega don't need/want to publish anything other than write what changes were provided going from RS to RX
