Is the arm on the 1200 a weak point?probably a 1200/1210 + Rega arm would be the best of the two worlds....

I don't think its a bad as people make out. Once suitable rewired it opens up the sound a lot.Is the arm on the 1200 a weak point?
Hard to say as I am limited to ever using a small number of turntables.I think so, don't you agree?
I am going to get this done. Can I do it myself?I don't think its a bad as people make out. Once suitable rewired it opens up the sound a lot.
You could but would be quite fiddly. I got J7 to do it at Audio Origami.I am going to get this done. Can I do it myself?
What’s the cost of this arrangement? You could but would be quite fiddly. I got J7 to do it at Audio Origami.
What’s the cost of this arrangement?
I know that this topic has already been widely discussed, I too have had both, but in your opinion what exactly are the advantages/disadvantages (pros/cons)?
Thank you.
Mauro
I bought a bashed up SL-1210 Mk5 for £200 as a stopgap while I got my LP12 serviced a decade ago. The LP12 has never made it back into my regular system. I'm listening to the 1210 now. The unmistakeable sound of real speed stability was a revelation and caused me to reassess a lot of my prejudices. I think most SL-1200 variants are let down by an arm which, while fairly good, is not quite to the same standard as the motor. I discovered what my 1210 could really do when I put my Ekos 2 on it.
I think it was around £ 180 with p+p but call him to find out if he is still doing this. What’s the cost of this arrangement?
