hi

do the US 110volt voltage p3 have a different motor from the 240 volt version? i have a 240 volt and wonder if i can change connections, or really just need to buy a new motor(the upgrade kit)? or does any one know the motor spec and i can just buy it off market somewhere

you need a new motor. Get a P3 upgrade kit.

US phase is different aside from voltage; 60Hz instead of 50. You would need to swap the phase change capacitor as well. If you change that, it would work fine with a step-up transformer if you don't want to spend the coin on a new motor.

I think you mean frequency, not phase. 60Hz mains will mean a different pulley is required on the P3 in addition to the motor change.
