Rega P-10?

I do believe the skeletal guts of the P-9 is the same structure as an Ikea Lack or better yet a interior mahogany door. Better material used than cardboard in the 9 tho.
 
It is certainly fibre board around the arm, motor and main bearing mount - but it needs to be in order to bolt these things firmly into place.
No idea if any other materials are used.
Certainly if you tap the plinth you can tell that it is skeletal - it is clearly hollow in places, and if you remove the plater and arm what's left is very light indeed.

This is exactly the same picture I have some where on my hard drive!
As I said already before, ordinary particleboard! No space-age honeycomb material or whatsoever inside!
