Rega lid question

Roy Gandy, recommends play vinyl with
the lid on.
But i tend remove the lid. My habit.
What do you recommend?

Lid off I would have thought, so that it doesn't capture airborne vibrations and amplify them onto the cartridge. But as with everything, just going with whatever sounds best is the way to go. Obviously this doesn't apply to p8, p10 and NAIA.

FWIW - I've always used Linns with the lid closed but Regas with the lid on but open!

Try it. Up, down or off will all sound different. Do what you prefer. If you can't hear any difference, it doesn't matter.

When I try it. Immediately I get in mode obsessed, and hear voices where there are not voices.

Due to it's location, sitting beneath a shelf, I have to remove the lid. It can be an occasional irritation, but there you are.
