RFC has just commissioned new custom designed stands for the superb sounding Rhapsody stand mount loudspeaker. It is available now to order with the first stands being completed in around 2 weeks time.
These are designed to work well with the Rhapsody speakers which in themselves are exceptionally uncoloured and very low in the cabinet resonance produced (that which is present is outside the critical midrange area). However they will work equally well with Harbeth speakers (being open top type designs) and other large stand mounters. They will be available in either solid beechwood or Oak.
Price for the Beechwood versions is expected to be a very reasonable £250 per hand crafted,properly Mortice and Tenon jointed pair (ie a lot of work goes into each pair!) and they will appear as in the mock-up below. Also shown below is a mock-up of the new magnetically attached grills complete with in-built diffraction absorbing felt for superb results with grills left on. Grill cloth is very strong but lightweight polyester and is acoustically transparent. The grills are INCLUDED within the price of the loudspeakers which makes the Rhapsody speaker system (including stands) one of the high-end speaker bargains of the moment, or so we believe:
