Thanks for the recommendations - really enjoyed the first series of the Code, felt the second was lacking a bit compared to the first. Also enjoying Wanted with strong lead characters, although the some of the stroylines do get a bit far fecthed. Haven't got around to watching Secret City, but will give it a go.

Secret City does get a bit far fetched at times, but so long as you suspend disbelief occasionally it's worth trying for sure.

Nice to see some of my former colleagues, including staff I used to supervise, getting fair exposure on the new series of Police Interceptors...:p

Also, several incidents featured are from the area I used to be in charge of policing for...

Good memories.

I was looking for Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, surprisingly it’s on neither Netflix or Prime. However, the whole film is on YouTube so you don’t even need a subscription! Great film.

Tom Waits - Under the Influence Amazon Prime
A 2 hour 21 minute investigation of the musicians who influenced Tom Waits unique style.

We've been watching The Americans. Apparently it's based on this real-life story:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...our-parents-were-russian-spies-tim-alex-foley

except that the TV version gets into all sorts of escapades (assassinations, kidnappings, honey traps) to an extent that stretches credulity far beyond breaking point. However, it's a fun watch and all the characters are excellently played.
It was hidden away on ITV for a few years, Ronan Keeting got me into it-yeah that one, worth sticking with it to the conclusion.

Watched "Silver Ilnings playbook" on Netflix last week - really enjoyed it, though IMO it does rather make light of mental illness - knock off a star for that.

Then watched "The big sick" on Prime. Nice rom-com with enough real comedy and depth to be not just a chick flick.

Lasted about 10 minute of "sex education" before deciding it is soft porn masquerading as drama. Not my thing.

Not sure what's next.

We recently enjoyed watching Queens Gambit, excellent and the last season of The Crown, excellent too though I think the actor playing Diana over egged the head tilt.
We started watching The Umbrella Academy which is quite different and watched the movie Enola Holmes which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Give it a chance, i'd agree it starts off on a strange footing but it gets better, a lot better.

I'd make it mandatory viewing for all teenagers.
I thought it was excellent and funny.

Also has anyone mentioned Big Mouth? Adult animation, occasionally purile, but had us laughing out loud frequently.
