I've recently been recapping my trusty SPX1, which was fairly easy. The only thing that is left is changing the 4.700uF reservoir caps. These have a *very* small form factor, as (from memory) they are only 25mm in height. I searched the usual places, but cannot find a matching substitute. M-Lytics start at 30mm, as do most other brands/types.
Last resort: relocate the whole setup into a bigger case and install the boards next to each other, so that 30mm caps are not a problem.
Or, maybe, de-solder one of them to check their capacitance and ESR - maybe they will work for another 10 years. Any fellow SPX1 users with opinions on this?
Best,
Oliver
