RB300 on ariston RD80sl

All over the underside of the subchassis. That way the thing is still balanced the same but is simply damped and heavier. I used some roofing lead I had lying around. I bolted it up to the subchassis allowing for cutouts for the suspension, earthing post, bearing.

Hi Fran,

I am still in the imporvement process of my RD 80.

I have 2 more questions :
1/ Which isolation feet did you use ?
2/ What are corner braces (you might have a picture)

Thanks in advance

Jean-Claude

I had an Ariston RD80 in the 80s, I wish I had bought the RD11s as that was much better and more on par with the LP12.
I had a Linn LvV arm on it for a while then changed it to an RB300, I had to use a 6mm stainless steel spacer washer to get the VTA right.
It sounded much better than the linn basic arm.
The RD 80 was a pig to get the bounce right and I got sick of messing about with that so I bought a Rega planner 3, the rega wasn’t any better that the RD80 just less fuss.
I now use a Linn LP12 with a OL RB 250 and its much better than my Rega P3
