A great bassist IMO, I loved their slack funk groove thing. Saw them live many times and them all a couple of times, but can’t really remember much as it was so long ago, right when they started out (a friend’s band did a few gigs with them). They were always good fun. RIP.
Yes indeed a great player who learned his stuff naturally without any traditional musical training, so it was all by feel. Will be spinning some of their 12” singles this weekend. Always the best way to experience them.
