Quad FM4 Just Died

Hi,
My Quad FM4 just died.

I checked the plug fuse; it's not that!!
Is there a user replaceable internal fuse or is this a repair job?
Does anyone have any ideas? Help!!

There's a plain jane three leg 7812 regulator in the power supply section - replace it and you should be good to go.

I have just seen there is a T63 250v fuse where the mains cable plugs in at the back. I will replace this first & see what happens!!

That link you posted was very informative. For info I opened the box and the inside is very clean. It's a latish model s/n 27@@@.

I replaced the fuse (had to buy 10 of them @ a cost of €20)and its now been singing sweetly (through my Nait 2 & Keilidhs) for the past 2 hours!! Fingers crossed!!

Probably not so rare Chinese earth!!
I suppose most of us are price takers when it comes to our precious Hi Fi gear!!

The fuse blew again!!

Will send it to Quad for service & repair after payday (this being a five week month)
