What a superb looking Proms season, really nice and diverse, and a Stockhausen day! Everywhere should have a Stockhausen day. It should be the law. There is tons of stuff I'd like to see in that Proms season, most of it to be honest. I must remember to listen to R3 a lot.

I agree, it looks a superb season.

There's a good bit of Janacek too - both Osud and the Glagolitic Mass. I'm also looking forward to the return of Barenboim's West-Eastern Divan Orchestra who gave a superb performance when the visited Edinburgh a couple of years ago.

If I wasn't out of the country that night, I would be a little put out that I've gone to the trouble of booking a trip to Amsterdam in order to see St Francis! I think it's a quite extraordinary opera. The only bit of Messiaen whose absence I regret is Des Canyons aux Etoiles... which I think is stunning, I'd also like some more of the piano music, though this isn't really suited to the Albert Hall so I'll let them off on that score!
