Preh 4-pole din plug info. please!

I am in the US, am looking for the Preh din plugs, am making up a set of cables for my Naim Nap-100 amplifier. When I look at Newark or Farnell I keep coming up with part number 71430-040/0800(Preh part number). When I look at this part it mentions that the connector body is made of plastic. Now I am not sure if they are describing the actual connector part inside the outer body here or what, but I am looking for a metal-bodied outer plug/assembly just like Naim uses on their interconnects/snaics. Can anyone verify this part or know what I may need here? I typically use Newark, if there is anyone better here in the states that would stock it, I would appreciate any info.

Believe me, this is actually quicker than being on the phone/hold for almost 45minutes for details etc., I finally gave up. Thanks in advance fine Fishies! Tim

Yes, that's the one you're looking for (same one as Naim use, and yes the body is metal). P.S. if you get 5 pin DINs too then make sure that you have the 180/240 type as required, the part numbers are very similar for those.

Excellent! I apreciate the quick response, was hoping this was the one, description left me a bit wondering. Will do on the 5-pins, just need 4's right now! Thanks again, Tim

The brand is Preh, I believe they are made in Germany, and you can also buy them on Ebay. The price is higher but then some of the electronics specialists have high p&p charges. As SJ says, with the 5-pins make sure you are getting the type you need.

Thanks all, I should be able to source them from Newark Electronics in Chicago, I have purchased from them before. No doubt the shipping charges will be more than the plugs, but I only need two of them, so no big deal right now. Again I do appreciate the responses and time! Tim

Mudlark, was looking at that part too, just wasn't sure of their background. I was able to order the Preh's from Newark in Chicago, a fiver apiece, but about eight in shipping. Oh well, it is good, went ahead and ordered four of them so I would have a couple of spares, one never knows! Thanks again! Tim
