This is a good point. You should buy the TX-9100 as it's a no-brainer but you would then need the matching amplifier.

And their turntables of that era were rather good...
The 5 years that have passed since madmike's post ought to be enough time to put together a complete matching system...
 
I settled for an Audiolab tuner to match my 80000A in the end...in case you were wondering.

Indeed - I started with the TX9100, then found a mint SA9100 and CTF7171. The full set, the class of 1974 :)
