Pics of your pets (part III)

@Gromit, you're pulling at the heart strings with those bird dog pics. I admit to at first clumsily thinking Gordon but upon most exacting further research concluded otherwise, as one must. He's magnificent. I miss my long departed Rags the Orange Belton almost daily.

@gintonic, may I ask what is that breed? Absolutely wonderful...

Siamese - mum, dad and gran are siamese. Marley is a grey, Ziggy is seal point. We don't think they are pure Siamese as they are not quite the expected shape. Marley is unusually big for a Siamese, and neither have the expected pointed face. Both have subtle stripes on their legs which suggests another breed in the line

So they are Siamese or derived thereof. They're so tall and striking.

Don't normally post my pics on the web (at least, not in a while) but since I'm farting around with a new camera I thought I'd rejoin the thread that (I think) I started, all those years ago...

This is a square crop of Suki, our Golden Doodle, on a nearby golf course just before it got properly dark. She's a bit nuts so getting her to pose is always a challenge. One of the reasons I chose the camera was to be able to crop to square with enough usable resolution left (~36MP at 1:1), and I think I may have found my camera to do this. Still getting used to it, but I can see me preferring it to the XT2 in time (though I still think the XT2 hits it out of the park in so many ways)...

I have looked after and known dogs all my life:

Josephine, a Jack Russell [with a one of her puppies, c.1965] at the Pool Farm, Acton Beauchamp:

Spot, another JR Terrier, at Evesbatch Farm next door to the Pool. Josephine was stolen in 1966 and Spot died aged thirteen in 1978 after losing his only fight ... with a Dalmatian..

And my pen-ultimate dog: Fred, the Welsh Collie, who was a seriously tough working dog, genial in the house and socially an absolute nightmare. He lived to thirteen, which is a good age for a Welsh Collie, died in January 1997:

Here about a yearling after a hard day's work. Later on in the evening he would completely clean himself up, so as to be pristine for next day. He was a cat killer, and fought every dog he met after being neutered at three years old. Lu is just as loyal and much kinder.

Collies and Terriers. My favourite dogs. Neither for the feint hearted. Both types types need so much exercise [and patience] that they behave ... But they are so loyal ...

Best wishes from George

Not ours (unfortunately) but rescued a 5 week old kitten last night that was found cold, dirty & alone on our cul de sac :(

Named him Larry ;) He's now with a specialist carer who'll wean him, get him seen by a vet & re-home him in the very near future...

He was a hungry boy so he had some of Oscar's food...

He wasn't grumbling :D

Lovely pictures hifilover1979. You're such a caring fella.

I'd give your post two likes if I could. Have these instead - :):).

It broke my heart letting him go TBH but having never handled a cat that young; I was out of my depth

I am slowly breaking my wife down into looking into taking him back when he's older & stronger and once the vets have done their bits etc ;)
