Marley does this kneading thing with a particular scrap of fabric. He purrs and sucks on it, whilst kneading it, in a trance like state - bit like a child with a comfort blanket.
It is a reversion to kitten behavour pummeling the mother's nipples for milk. We had cats that did that when sitting on us, it is a comforting behaviour for the cat.
Meet Smudge (working title). Found trapped in the vineyard netting 2 weeks ago - pretty sure she was feral but is at the right age (~ 8 weeks) to socalise. We will need to find a new home for her as our two big female cats will not tolerate her.
Today's afternoon bimble ended up as a bit of an impromptu photo-shoot. I instructed Harley to try and keep reasonably clean (yeah right..he's a Flatcoat) but he went rummaging in a load of cobwebs:
Ludo is still not fully on-message with the selfie thing! This was the best we've managed so far (hillwalking on Harris). I've got a new dog-walking hat since this picture though, as I bought myself a Harris Tweed bunnet when I was there!
