Photoshop is a huge topic and you have to determine what you want to achieve, is it improving images, or creative images using any iimage as a starter image.
So long as your pictures are in raw you can do a huge amount in Lightroom and just use Photoshop for the much more complicated stuff. Have a look at the stuff on noise Reduction and the lightroom video workshops by Steve Perry on his website www.backcountrygallery.com. Some are free but the first part (10 hours+ of video tutorial) of his Lightroom course cost about $28 and covers a huge amount and may be all you will ever need. Parts 2 and 3 aren't available yet and will cover much more advanced stuff.
I use DXO Photo lab. A powerful simple to use alternative to Photoshop and Lightroom but as I understand it it can integrate with them. Loads of videos guides on their website.
