Insufficient privileges to reply.
Textural and tonal opportunities abound at this time of year in the Northern Hempisphere (whoops, but now there's a thought).

Am I right in saying two weeks? Now to midnight Tues 23rd July.

1) ONE photograph to have been taken between this post and the end date (GMT/UTC midnight)
2) Max dimensions 800 x 800px, to be displayed in line please, rather than linked.

Ok. Philip, I love the Mountains of Mourne, the great sweep of the landscape, the lines of the cut hay and the way the foreground trees mirror the mountains, but ultimately it is held back by the sensor limitations - the blown out sky and the fringing on the mountains - and by the moving platform which has blurred the foreground.

Tony, there seem to be some sensor limitations on yours as well, particularly shows in the blocked and artefacted bush growing against the building. The main difficulty though is that the shingle, blue sky and largely dried ground cover on Orford Ness offer very little actual green

Stevie, I quite like the fennel, the background is 'rules wrong' but kinda quirky, but ultimately not quite substantive enough in terms of the challenge.

Ian, Yukka flowers are white! David, I absolutely love yours, but I think the the dof is just too shallow in the whole, and the composition is a bit awkward, leaves too much black and out of focus in the frame, doesn't quite gel.

So that leaves Pete and John. I found this really difficult, no distinction technically, so it comes down to subjectivity. John, the macro of the leaf is brilliant, and absolutely on the mark with the challenge, but Pete's grasses, with the jewels of rainwater and that delicious, soft background, I could feel.

So Pete, the baton passes (undoubtedly not for the first time) to you.

Wow didn’t expect that, I had given up after seeing Johns leaf macro.

I will think of a new theme.

Pete
