Phono stage recommendation

Which phono pre would you suggest. Must be capable for low output mc cart. Deck and arm are Transrotor Zet 3 and Jelco TK850s. Budget around £1k. Thanks:)

I’ve had some recommendation on the other forum.
Trilogy 906
Bigbottle
s/h Tom Evans groove
Dynavector P75 mk4
s/h Lehmann decade
a bit over budget Gold Note PH10
I haven’t heard any of these apart from the TE groove.

Tron Convergence
Graham Slee Reflex C
Aurorasound Vida Prima
Rega Aria
Croft RIAA + Rothwell SUT

You'll get a Rega Aria for half your budget and it can take any cart. Best I can say about it is that it doesn't sound like anything. Very neutral. Might sound like faint praise but it isn't. It's very transparent, dead quiet and doesn't add it's own character to the sound. I've no intention of changing it.

I don’t mind if it’s valve or ss. I think I’ll get better value s/h

Lots of good suggestions above, you'll most likely get better VFM buying second hand, a few more things to think about.
Do you want a phono stage that is adjustable for the amount of gain & loading or are you happy with a set value.
Do require a phonostage that has selectable EQ curves.
Do you want a phonostage that retains its market value and will be easy to sell on.
These will all help you narrow down your choices and make it easier to select the right piece of equipment.
I noticed yesterday a second hand Tom Evans 'The Groove' phonostage for sale from a UK dealer and I'm sure there's lots of others.

A Ryan Sounds Lab phono stage is a steal for the money had one on loan for a month, if I didn’t have a Paradise I would have no hesitation buying the RSL. It is that good with plenty of flexibility for MC cartridges.

Regards,

Martin

Depends on the TT/Arm and especially Cart

If you intend flipping carts around get the most flexible decent sounding one you like, if you are aiming for a single Cart buy to match

Dealer demos/loans or if you don't mind used and enjoy messing about

Buy 2 keep 1 sell 1
Buy another
Keep 1 sell 1
And so on...
