On saturday night I dragged myself along to my usual drinking hole to watch/listen to what I'd been told I really shouldn't miss.....
Phillip Roebuck. Banjo weilding one man band.
T'was a great show. Full of energy and had the crowd very entertained. Between every song you could hear people commenting along the lines of "this is ****ing nuts!", and getting into it.
The MOst amusing thing was watching the mix of saturday night/bank holiday wknd clubbers, dancing (attempting) along with those who had come along specifically for the show. Shirts, shoes and designer haircuts, jumping about next to dreadlocks and tie-dye.
I bought the cd "Fever Pitch" and it's good, but you really need to see this guy live.
