  1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Yesterday I walked around the woods above Calf Hey Reservoir near Haslingden. The area was home to several "whisky spinners" in the nineteenth century and they had to be inventive to hide their stills from the law. Bentley House was the home of Jonathan Haworth, who had a secret cellar with the flue from the still hidden in the main chimney of the house. It is now a very out-of-the-way spot in the woods with little evidence that people go there.
The information comes from an excellent new book "The Mystical Moors" by Stephen Oldfield.

Taken yesterday while on a walking tour around Lincoln, was really good. (The first photo was on my way there, up Steep Hill (as if you can’t tell).

    Lefty Trade: Amar Sood Photo

(Still) haven't been out with the camera in anger for a long time. However, it did find its way into the bag for today's afternoon walk. Luckily there was a game of cricket on in the local field, so I took a few snaps.

Looked like a game of T20 to me. They were playing with what looked like a 'hard tennis ball'. It made a crack when they hit it, but they weren't wearing any pads. Also, they were only using one end of the wicket, not swapping over between overs. The game has certainly changed since I last played club cricket!

Nothing earth shattering, but must admit I had a lot of fun sat there in the sunshine, watching the game and taking some snaps. Might go over on a Saturday for league cricket and bring a picnic with me next time :)

EXIF states LR Classic but the RAF to DNG conversion was done in C1 then imported into LR to use RNI.
