Micheldever Woods, ICM; it's a bit of a Marmite technique but useful when the light has gone. Not to be overdone:

What is the technique? Oh, Intentional Camera Movement.... Interesting.

How long was the exposure and how did you "move" the camera to try to get movement in only one plane?

The length of exposure to get the required effect, is a function of subject distance either physical or focal length & the amount of light. It's trial & error but fairly easy to get the hang of. For this shot it was 0.7 secs, and the camera was flipped upwards whilst pressing the shutter. You could also pan horizontally or for more abstract results spin the camera. Horizontal panning suits waves, vertical suits trees etc

For images with water, either rivers or seascapes an alternative is to push the camera forwards whilst exposing the image. This retains more structure & gives a different effect
