Thanks Amar - very kind! Slowly getting my head around copying negatives, helped by a great plug-in for LR (Negative Lab Pro). Just so wished they did a version for Capture One though.

Interesting! That (plugin) is one I've not come across before. I have ColorPerfect (a photoshop plugin) which I found was great when I briefly returned to shooting film.

Is Capture One your software of choice these days? I keep meaning to take another look at it...

Hi Amar - I'm now down to using C1 Express (the free one) for Fuji as it's a lot more simple than C1 Pro, then if any further manipulation is required (usually just healing) then I'll pop the jpeg into LR. I cannot deny that Fuji RAWs are just so much better when converted in Capture One. I don't tend to do much processing so the set up works fine for me. Just wish NL was available for Capture One as trying to sharpen the Fuji RAWs in Lightroom (ones which are negative copies) ends up with so many artefacts which is a bit of a pain.

I actually just stumbled on Negative Lab whilst searching on YouTube for videos on copying negatives with a camera. It does work extremely well, and saves one hell of a lot of faff trying to do the same in Lightroom.

Well there’s a coincidence. I recently ‘discovered’ this Cold War anti aircraft gun installation while looking around Suffolk on Google Earth. I doubt there’s much left, but it’s being preserved, and so I’ll take a look one day.

edit to add: near Signals at Trimly, near Felixstowe.

Tony - you've seen these?

Yes. From what I’ve heard there’s not much left, but I’m at the point where even a pile of rubble can be interesting!

Interesting too to see the subsequent generation represented by the Bloodhound site a short hop up the coast at Bawdsey Manor.

I can remember driving to Bawdsey in the 1980s and being quite taken aback at the surreal sight of those sinister looking missiles suddenly looming above the Suffolk hedgerows.

I ‘visited’ Bawdsey a couple of weeks ago :)
