This may be useful info for hobbyists, DIY ers etc.
I needed a bit of Perspex/Acrylic to make a small DIY project.
I called several local suppliers who all wanted to sell me an 8' by 4' sheet.
I then found a number of eBay suppliers offering various bits.. off cuts etc.
Still not ideal, but I called one of them. I got a very helpful response and was told that the smallest piece I could purchase was A4, but they would happily cut this down and polish the edges if required, for a small additional cost.
I ordered a 173 x 173 mm piece of clear 10mm acrylic with polished edges.
Came in about £13 and arrived promptly as per order and complete with off cuts.
£13 may seem a lot but a full 3m x 2 m sheet of this stuff is at least £350
Also £13 to nicely finish off a £2k project is peanuts.
