What's Different About Peachtree Audio 2.0? -

Engineering -

In 2014 a new engineering team was hired to re-engineer a solid platform for a new generation of nova amplifiers. This team had already been responsible for some of the best audio products ever developed, garnering much front-page coverage and stellar reviews. They were an expensive team, but Peachtree Audio was on a mission to develop the best products in its history and this kind of investment was necessary to get the new concept off of the ground on the right foot.

Uh… almost everything -

This has been the most common question since re launching Peachtree Audio as 2.0 in the Spring. The bottom line is that the only thing that remains the same are the concepts, which have always been solid, and have for the most part led the industry in computer and digital audio for the last decade.

The look also remains similar, with beautiful cabinets and classic designs. Everything else is outlined below and represents the best of Peachtree Audio going forward.

Why Peachtree Audio?

From the beginning of Peachtree Audio, we've tried to merge old-school audiophile thinking, where sound quality always comes first, with a decidedly new-school digital/computer audio savvy mind set. In 2017 Peachtree Audio is celebrated its 10th anniversary with new products that are so improved, we’ve re-launched the company as Peachtree Audio 2.0. Our new flagship Nova Series of amplifiers can push any speaker on the market and easily replace a large stack of electronics with virtually no loss in performance. Peachtree Audio has always been a good value, but now that Peachtree Audio 2.0 engineering and manufacturing have been moved to North America, we believe Peachtree Audio's value is greater than ever.

Peachtree Audio introduced our first product in 2007: the groundbreaking Decco* integrated amplifier. Audio industry veterans Jim Spainhour and David Solomon recognized that music listeners were moving toward computer-based audio, but the business-as-usual industry was not adjusting. Unwilling to compromise audio quality for the admitted convenience of digital files, they conceived of a new kind of integrated amplifier. This would be an amplifier with a digital-to-analogue converter inside, able to extract maximum fidelity from computer music files and from digital music streamers like Sonos and Apple TV. Thus was the iconic Decco born - debuting to great critical acclaim and laying the foundation of Peachtree Audio's reputation for innovation and great sound at down to earth prices.

A few questions Peachtree Audio often get asked about the nova500 and amp500:

What speaker do you recommend for the nova500? We don't. It doesn't really matter. It will drive anything out there and you will hear things you haven't heard before. Same applies to the amp500. The power takes care of any issues created by low speaker sensitivity and the transparency lets the music shine through unadulterated at any volume level.

Does the nova500 have too much power for my speaker? No. We will always advise "over-powering" a speaker than "under-powering" one. Under-powering a speaker leads to amplifier clipping, which can result in damaged driver(s) in a very short time frame. You can, also, over-power a speaker by pushing one or more of the drivers beyond their mechanical limits. But the majority of failed speakers are due to amplifier clipping. In other words, someone turned up the volume beyond the level the amplifier could output cleanly and one or more of the drivers in the speaker stopped working as a direct result. The speaker didn't fail...the amplifier failed the speaker. If you have ever "blown" a speaker (and who hasn't at some point in their life?), this is most likely what occurred.

Why Peachtree Audio?

From the beginning of Peachtree Audio, we've tried to merge old-school audiophile thinking, where sound quality always comes first, with a decidedly new-school digital/computer audio savvy mind set. The result has been a series of award-winning amplifiers, DACs and speakers enjoyed by music lovers all over the world.

In 2017 Peachtree Audio is celebrated its 10th anniversary with new products that are so improved, we’ve re-launched the company as Peachtree Audio 2.0. Our new flagship Nova Series of amplifiers can push any speaker on the market and easily replace a large stack of electronics with virtually no loss in performance. Peachtree Audio has always been a good value, but now that Peachtree Audio 2.0 engineering and manufacturing have been moved to North America, we believe Peachtree Audio's value is greater than ever.

Peachaudio Audio History

Peachtree Audio introduced our first product in 2007: the groundbreaking Decco* integrated amplifier. Audio industry veterans Jim Spainhour and David Solomon recognized that music listeners were moving toward computer-based audio, but the business-as-usual industry was not adjusting. Unwilling to compromise audio quality for the admitted convenience of digital files, they conceived of a new kind of integrated amplifier. This would be an amplifier with a digital-to-analogue converter inside, able to extract maximum fidelity from computer music files and from digital music streamers like Sonos and Apple TV. Thus was the iconic Decco born - debuting to great critical acclaim and laying the foundation of Peachtree Audio's reputation for innovation and great sound at down to earth prices.
