  1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

I have only just discovered the husband and wife duo called Over The Rhine possibly because their albums on cd are generally or completely not sold in UK.
    I like them a lot.
Sourced two of their albums on discogs at ok prices from USA.

    Ooh! Which albums?

Longtime fan here, have much of their earlier output and have seen them perform live. Karin Bergquist is just... sigh. Let's just have a listen.

Killer solo by Michael Timmins of Cowboy Junkies on this one:

Thanks for the heads up Kasperhauser.
Maybe I haven't got their best albums??
    I wouldn't know.
But I have got The Long Surrender.
And I have got their double album Ohio.
If there is better from them I look forward to hearing more as I like these two albums a lot.

Good choices – both essential. :) In your shoes, I'd check out Films for Radio next. A bit darker in places, more complex, but it contains my all-time favorite OTR track (Little Blue RIver/In the Garden).

My introduction to OtR was Drunkard's Prayer (2005) - saw them live just after they released that - front row seats - brilliant! Still my favourite album.

Ohio is also a great album. And Snow Angels is a really nice Christmas album (not your normal Christmas fare).

I haven't heard Films for Radio - will put it on soon.

I find it's always an exciting time discovering a really good artist that's been around for a while with a good back catalogue. Have fun!

Thanks for your contribution too Wendonside2.
It is fab when you discover new stuff.
Will get Snowangels if I can.
I like Christmas albums that are not the usual fare.
Slade,Mud,Wizard,George Michael etc etc constantly on the radio over and over drives me mad.
Not sure there are great Christmas albums??...but I have quite nice Christmas albums by Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and Diana Krall.
Going off topic here, hee hee.

There is no such thing as a bad OTR album, they’re all good and reward with repeated listening. Their ‘Live From Nowhere’ series is worth finding if you can, but hard to come by these days.

They’ve not released anything I’m aware of since 2019. I wonder whether Covid broke them.
