Thank you. Can't see that (paywall) but finally found a video on the Daily Express site. It was at the EU summit presser. Juncker, when asked how the meeting went and checking whether the question is about the food, says it was a good meeting, but we have a problem between the EU and the UK, etc. and finishes with "I'm not talking about the food", which could be interpreted in several ways. The Daily Express, naturally, runs a headline screaming "Juncker MOCKS Downing St food!"

Who needs any enemies in this country when you have people who voted remain? Some would rather see other people do better than just to prove a point. Why? Just so that you can prove everyone how right you were after all? Wow aren't you clever. Negotiation with Europe was difficult and not easy ....wow what a shocker.
Whatever your views on brexit as a country we need to be as united as much as possible going forward as whether we like it or not brexit is happening. The only people that will benefit from anything else will be the other parties.

That's not going to work. The UK is split by this Tory con trick, tens of millions of us have absolutely zero intention of 'uniting' around this Prime Minister, her government or Brexit.

It basically would be like after a PM for some stupid reason 'pressed a button' and nuked Manchester, all were supposed to unite on the grounds that everyone needs to work together on relief and decontamination efforts.

What utter shite.

People who voted 'remain' in a democratic vote are your enemies?

So.. we all need to be united. I can dig that. But united behind what?

And who are 'the other parties'?.

Please try harder.

Who needs enemies when you have people prepared to crash the UK economy and it's ability to fund adequate services, just to prove a point. The consequences are far too serious to leave to political dogma and economic fantasy. If you want to unite people, you need to make damn sure more than a couple of per cent majority are in favour of such magnitude of upheaval and that your promises have at least remote credibility.

Complete distraction, don't blame you given the Maybot's basic lack of briefing for such important matters. That idiot Juncker being anywhere in the EU is no excuse for this shambles. Besides, with Fox and Bojo on board - the glass house looks even more fragile.

Juncker may (or may not) be an idiot, but next to May, Boris et al, he looks like an intellectual giant.

The only sensible reason to get behind May and follow her is out of curiosity, to see what she'll do next.

The general election will give the tens of millions of people in this country an opportunity to remove the present government and maybe a Brexit rethink.
Odds of most seats.
Tory 1/20
Labour 14/1
Liberal 100/1

Unfortunately, a majority of the British people are just as stupid as their leaders.

The saying that we get the politicians that we deserve seems apt here

In a year, yes. That's why she wants the election now and Corbyn was mindlessly stupid to allow her to cut and run.

Unite? Behind what? It was a internal Tory political squabble played out in public, a con trick built on lies and fuelled by nationalism and xenophobia. Half the senior people campaigning for leave didn't believe the electorate were stupid enough to actually vote for it, they were playing political games with people's lives.

And now the prime architect of this unbelievable mess is going to go back to being an ordinary millionaire and do a bit of writing in his 25k shepherds hut!

What the hell are you talking about? The Leave voters, having got their hearts fondest desire, are the ones attacking anyone they suspect of being a "remainiac traitor". If they can't handle it when the plain reality of what's happening is pointed out to them, f*ck them.

A hard Brexit and the subsequent trials that will follow as countries like Argentina seek concessions before allowing the UK to become a member of the WTO offers absolutely nothing to the 48% of voters who voted to remain in the EU.

So what are we expected to get behind, exactly? If May was offering a Norway-option, perhaps. What she's aiming for now is nothing I can support in any way.

Stephen

Strong and stable government is all very well, but it's what you do with it that counts.

I see nothing in the Tory party that does good for anyone but the rich.
